Still in Paso

Saturday at Grandma's house we got to hang out & work on a craft. Mom had gotten both Grandma & Grandpa Bob & Papa Don a Christmas scrapbook. So we put Papa Don's together while Grandma worked on theirs. They really enjoyed them. We also had a picnic for lunch, which was fun because Nitro didn't even try and bother us. Guess he liked his lunch too. Then we ended with a small concert on the piano. Just wait till I get piano lessons, then grandpa will let me play more.

We had a great weekend with Grandma & Grandpa.

Jake

Visiting Paso

The following weekend mom & I made a trip to Paso Robles to see Grandma, Grandpa & Nitro. Dad was off testing the race car so we decided to go for a visit. Cousin Anita came over for dinner Friday night & I was able to show her my tools.
Enjoy,
Jake

I loved the tool bench so much that
Grandma sent it home with us.
Safety First.
See I wear my safety glasses to protect my baby blues.

It was this long.

How it disappears so quickly, I just don't know.

Showing Cousin Anita the train station I built.

Horse Back Riding

Since I was feeling much better & was tired of being couped up in the house, dad called his friend Ed to see if he was going to be with his horses today. Ed has 3 horses, named Corona, Bud & JD, that he keeps on a ranch in Chino Hills near our house. So we went to visit Ed, his girlfriend Barbara & the horses.

This was my very first experience riding horses. I am a city boy so I wasn't that sure about getting on these huge animals and riding them. I do love the carousel ride but this was completely different. We started slow & as the day progressed I got more & more comfortable with the horses. Dad started out on Corona then I got on & truly was not impressed. Then mom rode Corona & I again got to ride with her, still not sure about this horse riding thing.

Eventually they got Bud (or maybe it was JD) ready for dad to ride & we took off on an adventure. By the end of the day I was loving horse back riding. Also, there are a bunch of dogs that live on the ranch & Ed has a big supply of dog bones on hand to feed them, I really enjoyed feeding all the dogs, and I'm sure they loved it to. At the end of the day I had stuffed my pockets with dog bones & had almost all the dogs following me as we took the horses back to their pasture & Barbara couldn't figure out why all the dogs were following us until we got back & I started taking out the bones to feed them.

It was a great day! Thanks Ed & Barbara & Corona, Bud & JD. We hope to do it again someday.
Love,
Jake

Not sure about Bud the horse.

Checking it all out.

Not really liking being on the horse.

Why are you letting him take me Barbara?

Going around one of the arena's.
Barbara to the rescue.
Look how happy I am to be getting off.

I like giving dad a high-5 from the side lines.

Riding with mom is a little better.

Out of the arena and riding around the ranch.

Telling dad I didn't want to leave.
Getting the horses ready to go back to pasture.

Barb put me on Corona before they got his blanket off.

I think I could ride by myself next time.

They even have a saddle just my size.
Here I am trying it out.

Thanks Barbara & Ed.
I had a blast.

Here you go.

I have another in here somewhere.

My dad is cool.

The last one.

I think they were finally full.

After a long day of riding I was exhausted.

Not feeling Well

Well a couple of weeks later I came down with a horrible cough & slight fever. So I stayed home from school for a couple of days but my cough wasn't getting any better so mom took me to the Dr. I had to get a breathing treatment which I had never had & wasn't crazy about at first. But with some bribing from mom & the nurses I put the mask on & was a trooper.
Hugs,
Jake

After fighting it I finally gave in & took the treatment.

Are we done yet?

Almost done.
