Hi All,
Well, as I always say long time no blog update. But, things around our household have been a bit crazier than usual. While some of you know what has been going on others may not so this is probably the easiest way to fill in a lot of you at once. To be honest, mom & dad don't know who has heard & who hasn't or who heard it through the grape vine.
So, for the short version:
We are moving to the Charlotte, NC area sometime in the very near future because dad is going to be with a new race team next year.
Now for the longer more in dept version:
In September the race team dad works for announced that their primary sponsor would not be renewing their contract. (side note - CSK Auto was bought out by O'Rilley Auto Parts). The team knew there was a distinct possibility that they would not renew their contract since O'Rilley had a history of not sponsoring teams, but events instead.
So the hunt that was on for a new sponsor was ramped up. With the economy being what it is this wasn't going to be easy. Things changed when Del (dad's boss & driver of the car & friend) was offered a driving job for a new funny car team that would be starting in 2009. Del decided he couldn't pass up this opportunity & wanted to give his team the time they needed to find new employment.
Dad was able to secure a job for next year, & beyond, working for Tasca Racing. He is being reunited with his former co-crew chief Chris Cunningham, who has been the crew chief for Tasca Racing this past year, as well as a few guys from the blue team as well (Big Tom, Danny & Mike -Chris's Dad). They are building a new shop in Concord, NC.
We are in the process of selling our house, packing & finishing out the race season & trying to figure out the holidays. We are going to be around California for Thanksgiving but just not sure where we will be for Christmas or my 4th birthday on New Years Eve.
That is about it for the news department at the moment.
Stay tuned & I will try & get October updated.
But don't stop reading just yet, September is below this.
Please keep us in your prayers as we navigate our new adventure.
Love & Hugs to all
Jake
